This blog is about the matters of public interest in Speedway, Indiana, located entirely within the boundaries of Indianapolis. This blog is also of the position that Speedway is important to Indianapolis and its identity. Go to India or China, and if someone has heard of Indianapolis, they've heard of the 500.
Speedway Matters is created for the purpose of expressing and hopefully debating the merits of the issues affecting our lives; my hope is that this occurs in a positive, constructive manner and focuses on issues proportionate to their relative importance.
As a political junkie for many years, I realize that it is easy to get lost in the daily hysteria of national politics. I have come to realize that if everything is the end of the world, then nothing is the end of the world, and there really can only be ONE end of the world.
More than 3/4 of the government/public action that affects our lives happens at the state and local level. We should be paying attention.
